Friend, flirt or more? What is she doing?

I have a female friend who I like very much. Problem is she's really shy, younger than me, just out of a relationship that was beyond dead. She's a little awkward and difficult to kind of understand what she wants.





So lately, we've been hanging out more as in going to each others houses, going out to the movies, shopping etc. We talk on msn almost constantly, and she'll text me to kind of see how I'm doing if she knows I'm out somewhere or I'm not on msn and she doesn't know what I'm doing. She suggests we do things more now too, which is good as for a while I felt as if I was always pestering her to see me.





Lately she's been texting a bit more and wanting to hang out more, yet when I tried to tell her I had feelings for her more than friendship, she seemed taken aback...I was unsure what to do and backtracked and changed the subject. She asked if I had been serious earlier on later and I said no, not wanting to make her feel awkward.





The other thing is,she can blow hot and cold with me. When I'm with her friends and I'm the new person in the group, she'll seem really shy and barely acknowledge or speak to me which is rather hurtful. But later on msn or when I'm alone with her she'll talk non-stop or apologise for being quiet.





She told me she liked some guy with a girlfriend when I asked her, but she wouldn't tell me who he was. It made no sense, because at the time we were still only getting to know each other so I'd never have known who he was.





So, what is she doing? Does she want to be just friends or more?Friend, flirt or more? What is she doing?
